With great interest and active participation, Aegean Echoes successfully carried out an experiential educational workshop entitled “The Connection Between Parents and Children.” The workshop aimed to highlight the importance of meaningful communication and emotional connection within the family.

Through interactive exercises, role-playing, group discussion, and experiential activities, trainer Katerina Takalou offered participants the opportunity to explore in practice how everyday interactions influence children’s development and shape the relationship between parents and children.

During the workshop, participants practiced techniques of active listening, emotional recognition and expression, as well as effective communication methods that strengthen trust, cooperation, and mutual understanding within the family.

The workshop emphasized that the family is the first and most important learning environment for a child. The quality of communication, the acceptance of emotions, and the presence of empathy play a decisive role in the development of social and emotional skills, such as self-confidence, cooperation, self-control, and conflict resolution.

Current research also confirms that children who grow up in a supportive environment, where parents listen, understand, and respond respectfully to their needs, are more likely to develop stronger social-emotional skills and healthier relationships.

Participants responded with enthusiasm to all activities, shared personal experiences and reflections, and gained practical tools that they can immediately apply in their everyday family life. The atmosphere was warm, creative, and collaborative, demonstrating that learning becomes more meaningful when it is combined with lived experience.

The workshop concluded with a shared understanding: the connection between parents and children is not built through perfection, but through availability, understanding, conscious sharing of time, and the daily effort to listen to one another with an open heart.

Because every small moment of communication can become a great opportunity for connection.
