Another Outstanding Initiative by the Friends of the Industrial Museum of Syros
Another outstanding initiative by the Friends of the Industrial Museum of Syros took place on Saturday 22 November 2025 at the Cyclades Chamber of Commerce, with the presentation of the book “Ermoupoli of Syros (1823–1940): An Early Industrial City of the Aegean. Industries and Industrialists” by Christina Agriantoni.
The hall of the Chamber was filled to capacity, clearly demonstrating the strong interest of local residents in the Association’s work and its important contribution to highlighting the history of Ermoupolis.
The speakers – each with their own perspective, experience, and narrative style – took the audience on a journey into a past of factory machinery, innovation, and human stories. Their different yet complementary approaches brought to light, with impressive clarity, the industrial development of Ermoupolis in the 19th and 20th centuries, leaving a captivating impression on everyone present.
